Are you a results-driven sales professional with deep experience in the automotive refinish sector? AkzoNobel is seeking a dynamic Strategic Account Manager to support national business growth through our distribution network.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development at a national level, focusing on expanding our distribution and wholesale network.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure high-value accounts—think large workshop groups, major distributors, and significant regional players.
  • Develop and execute account-specific strategies in line with business goals to achieve sales, margin, and profit targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders: business owners, directors, buyers, category managers, and supply chain managers.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, including trading terms, promotional activity, and category management initiatives.
  • Act as the key interface between AkzoNobel and our customers, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal teams (sales, supply chain, marketing).
  • Leverage market knowledge and data-driven insights to identify joint business opportunities and drive performance.
  • Ensure robust participation in forecasting, promotional planning, and budget management for your accounts.
  • Champion AkzoNobel's values, adhering to safety, compliance, and the highest standards of promotional excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) in sales/account management within the vehicle refinish or automotive aftermarket sector.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and closing large, complex deals at a national level.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, particularly with distribution channels and group accounts.
  • Experience developing new business and driving strategic growth, not just maintaining existing accounts.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); valid driver's license required.
  • Intermediate to advanced English skills are highly desirable.
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and business development.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and able to thrive in a dynamic, target-driven environment.
