Summary

With passion, care, and a strong work ethic, DOSM actively and consistently engage all stakeholders to listen, learn, and lead a diverse team focused on building brand loyalty and cultivating positive guest experiences.
The Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. Is responsible to provide leadership in all selling activities within the hotel, working closely with the Rooms, Food and Beverage and other revenue-generating departments to achieve optimal occupancy, growth in existing accounts, and generating new business, all to maximize total revenue and meet/exceed hotel profit objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a DOSM in luxury hospitality environments
- Position ideally based on property in Cancun; remote candidates may be considered if aligned with key feeder markets and luxury experience
- Opening experience for luxury resort
- Strong understanding of luxury positioning and customer experience
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to manage departmental budgets, forecast accurately in dynamic markets.
- Well versed in consortia and luxury group business
- Ability to understand and build strategy based on data
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to build strategy and positioning for opening hotel
- Ability to build teams and drive results with clear expectations and goals
- Relationship builder in the community and demonstrate leadership in tourism community
- Clear understanding of marketing - including social media, digital and traditional marketing - sales, public relations, and guest experience programming
- Clear understanding of standard analytical tools such as CoStar/STR, Lanyon, Demand 360, and Agency 360
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting to and managing ownership and asset management groups
- Motivator and coach with ability to manage multiple levels of experience

- Experience with seasonality and Caribbean or Mexican resorts preferred
- Demonstrated success operating in dynamic, high-demand luxury hospitality markets
- Bi-lingual preferred (English/Spanish highly desirable)
- Previous experience in hotel openings is highly preferred
