Role Overview

We are looking for a
Head of Merchant Acquisition
to lead
merchant acquisition, onboarding, and scaling
for our BNPL / ePOS service.

This is a senior leadership role, responsible for building and managing a team of merchant acquisition specialists and working closely with the Product Owner and Head of Back Office during merchant integration and go-live phases.

The role combines commercial ownership, partnerships, and operational coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the merchant acquisition strategy (e-commerce merchants)
  • Lead, develop, and scale a team of merchant acquisition specialists
  • Personally manage negotiations with key and strategic merchants
  • Own the full merchant onboarding lifecycle:
  • from first contact to successful go-live and first transactions
  • Coordinate merchant integrations together with Product Owner, Head of Back Office, and IT
  • Ensure high-quality merchant launches and stable initial transaction flows
  • Deliver KPIs related to active merchants, GMV, and conversion
  • Collect merchant feedback and contribute to the product roadmap

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience acquiring e-commerce companies (B2B)
  • with direct, practical integration of online stores
    (Shopify, WooCommerce, custom CMS, etc.)
  • Experience managing and leading teams (sales / partnerships / merchant acquisition)
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce, payments, and checkout processes
  • Practical experience launching and supporting technical integrations for merchants
  • Ability to operate at the intersection of commercial, product, and operations teams
  • Strong negotiation skills and results-oriented mindset
  • Mandatory experience working in the Mexico / LATAM market
  • Business-fluent Spanish and English
