Job Mission: Full-Time Freelancer/Temp Content Strategist (Mexico-Based, Hybrid) - Global
Oral Care Brand
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Content Strategist to join a Global Marketing
team on a full-time freelance or temporary basis. This role will focus on developing and
executing content strategies for GUM, a global oral care brand, with a strong emphasis on
delivering personalized experiences that drive brand loyalty and growth. The ideal candidate will
have deep expertise in content marketing and marketing automation within global
organizations, and a proven ability to create impactful, tailored content that resonates across
diverse international markets. This role will report directly to the Global Brand Management
Director, Oral Care. There is potential for the candidate to be offered a permanent position after
one year, based on performance and business needs.
Location: Mexico-based position with hybrid work flexibility. The successful candidate will work
part of the week from our Mexican offices located at Av. De la Palma 8-205, Col. San Fernando
la Herradura, Huixquilucan, Edo. de Mex. C.P
Key Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Collaboration
• Content Strategy Development: Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive
global content strategy that aligns with brand objectives, customer needs, and regional
market demands, with a focus on delivering personalized, relevant experiences to our
audience.
• Content Optimization & Leveraging: Proactively identify, evaluate, and maximize existing
content assets across all regional markets to determine their potential as global master
content. Assess regional content that meets quality and brand standards to elevate and
scale for organization-wide use, ensuring cost efficiency and optimal resource
utilisation.
• Cross-Regional Collaboration: Actively seek and nurture collaboration opportunities
with regional teams to facilitate content co-creation initiatives. Build strong working
relationships with stakeholders across different markets to understand their unique
business needs, challenges, and content requirements.
Content Production & Management
• Marketing Technology Integration: Work closely with the digital and marketing
automation teams to ensure content workflows are optimized and automated,
delivering personalized content at scale across various channels.
• Multi-Channel Content Production: Oversee the production and adaptation of high-
quality content across multiple platforms, including blogs, social media, email
newsletters, web copy, video, and more, ensuring content consistency while catering to
the universal needs of our biggest markets.
• Global Master Content Creation: Develop and produce global master content in English,
ensuring it is scalable and adaptable for localization by local markets. This content will
serve as the foundational resource that local teams can tailor to fit regional nuances
while maintaining brand consistency.
• Content Gap Analysis: Systematically identify content gaps across markets and
prioritize new content creation based on strategic business impact, cost considerations,
and regional priorities.
Performance & Stakeholder Management
• Performance Optimization: Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of
content initiatives, making adjustments and optimizations based on key performance
indicators (KPIs) to ensure content delivers real results.
• Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams
(Marketing, Digital, Creative, Analytics) and regional stakeholders to ensure alignment
and consistency across global initiatives. Demonstrate strong political acumen when
navigating organizational dynamics and competing regional priorities. Provide guidance
on how to incorporate personalized content strategies at every touchpoint while
maintaining diplomatic relationships across diverse cultural contexts.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Technical & Strategic Expertise
• Extensive experience in content marketing and marketing automation within global
organizations, with a strong focus on personalization as a key element of brand building.
• A proven track record of developing and executing data-driven content strategies that
drive customer engagement and loyalty.
• Expertise in leveraging marketing technology to deliver personalized content
experiences at scale.
• A solid understanding of SEO, Answer Engines Optimization (AEO), content
performance metrics, and analytics tools to ensure continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Communication
• Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse,
international teams and navigate cultural nuances in content creation and stakeholder
management.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of organizational dynamics, cost efficiency
principles, and the ability to balance competing business priorities across different
regions.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in managing multiple stakeholder
relationships, understanding varied business needs, and translating them into
actionable content strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-
quality content.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, global
environment.
Content Development
• Experience in adapting content to different contexts and touch points while maintaining
a cohesive global brand identity.
• Content Audit & Optimization: Ability to assess existing content assets for quality,
relevance, and global scalability potential.
• Resource Optimization: Experience in maximizing content ROI through strategic
repurposing, adaptation, and collaborative content development approaches.
Additional Requirements:
• Language Skills: Native or near-native proficiency in English is required.
• Location: Must be based in Mexico with the ability to work a hybrid schedule, including
regular office presence.
• Travel: Occasional travel to other regional offices may be required for collaboration and
stakeholder meetings.
