Job Summary

The CS&L Cost Specialist is responsible for end-to-end logistics cost governance, including budgeting, cost analysis, forecasting, and expense control across CS&L operations. This role combines strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable plans for operations leaders. The ideal candidate understands logistics cost drivers (e.g., freight rate variances, warehousing costs), identifies root causes of deviations, and partners with stakeholders—including Accounts Payable teams in India and key suppliers—to ensure accurate, timely payments and adherence to budget targets.

Responsibilities
  • Build, manage, and track detailed budgets for the Logistics department, covering all fixed and variable accounts (OPEX and CAPEX).
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on budget performance; identify root causes of variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop dynamic, insightful reports and dashboards to enable proactive cost control and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls related to logistics cost management.
  • Coordinate with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure operational continuity and on-time, accurate payments across the supply chain.
  • Generate and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for logistics expenses; ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Maintain and reconcile logistics-related P&L accounts; support month-end close and financial statement integrity.
  • Lead and track budget creation, updates, and forecasts; ensure alignment with CS&L operational plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize freight, warehousing, and other logistics costs.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 2–3 years as a Finance Business Partner, Controller, or Finance Manager supporting Logistics, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain operations.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Proven experience creating, managing, and controlling large-scale OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Tools and Platforms: Advanced Excel; Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Drive); SAP at an accounting/controlling level; Ariba for procurement/PO management.
  • English: Upper-intermediate or advanced, with the ability to interact effectively with global teams (including Accounts Payable based in India).
Desired Qualifications
  • Leadership and Influence: Ability to guide and persuade CS&L and cross-functional leaders, fostering a culture of financial accountability.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Connects day-to-day financial drivers with broader business strategy; understands operational impact of financial decisions.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and assertive communicator; able to translate complex financial information into actionable insights for non-financial audiences.
  • Problem Solving: Structured approach to issue identification, root-cause analysis, and the development of effective, measurable solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience implementing process improvements in logistics finance (e.g., standardizing reporting, automating variance analysis, tightening PO-to-payment controls).
