Remote Family-Based Paralegal for Immigration Law Firm

The Immigration Professor is a growing immigration law based in Los Angeles that just celebrated its 30th year of operations. We pride ourselves on providing our clients with excellent service which is documented with our many 5-star ratings on Yelp. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic office where your contributions can directly impact the success of our firm.

We are currently seeking a full-time paralegal to add our staff. The position is fully remote, and the hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Standard Time. The candidate will work directly with clients via phone and on Zoom to draft their immigration forms and put together their petitions.

We are only considering candidates with a minimum of two years experience as a paralegal at an immigration law firm with experience drafting these forms. This is a requirement for the position:

  • Adjustments of Status (I-485)
  • Family Petitions (I-130)
  • Advance parole (I-131)
  • Naturalization (N-400)
  • Employment authorization (I-765)
  • Green Card Renewal (I-90)
  • Removal of Conditions (I-751)
  • DACA Renewals

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Working with clients to assist our attorneys in putting together evidentiary packets in support of the client's case
  • Presenting forms and packets for review and revision by the supervising attorney
  • Tracking the status of each client's case using our management software (MyCase) to make regular notes on case progress, document communications with clients, and documenting case strategy and changes in strategy
  • Respond to Requests for Evidence regarding the above cases
  • Attend weekly supervision meetings with the Supervising Attorney
  • Effectively coordinate with lead attorney to respond to client inquiries and keep clients informed about the status of their case

Mandatory Requirements

  • 2 years experience as a paralegal at an immigration law firm - candidates without this experience will not be considered. This experience must be reflected on your resume.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Strong technical skills - the position is fully remote

Desired but not required

  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish
  • Experience with case management software: Docketwise, Dropbox, and MyCase

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25,133.00 per month
