PURPOSE

Reporting to the Vice President of Financial Operations, the Director of Financial Operations SSC/MEX is a critical and highly visible role within WWEX Group that will lead and be responsible for the seamless integration, coordination, and oversight of critical accounting and financial functions at our Financial Operations Shared Service Center in Monterrey MX.

This position requires strong operational knowledge, keenly focused on developing efficiencies and providing expertise that will help to position WWEX Group for scalability and growth. The Director of Financial Operations SSC/MX will cultivate and maintain a leadership structure and culture that creates an environment conducive to recruiting, developing, motivating, and retaining the highest quality talent to support the team and the organization. Reporting to this role will be 3 managers overseeing a team of 60+ associates supporting Financial Operations.

The ideal candidate is an experienced and nimble professional who thrives in a complex and fast-paced environment. This is a pivotal role and a key strategic partner to the executive team and the broader finance organization. It is critical that this person has spent time in a financial leadership role in an organization of scale. It is also crucial that this person is comfortable in a highly visible role, at the same time is capable and willing to roll up his/her sleeves and operate within a fast-moving and dynamic company.

Stylistically, the successful candidate will possess gravitas and be a highly process-oriented individual who can lead a best- in-class accounting and finance organization. This includes excellent leadership capabilities, proven business partnering and outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of audiences both in and outside of finance. The ability to build and foster relationships, and the capability to develop innovative ideas and entrepreneurial solutions are essential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of Carrier Billing, Carrier Payables, and Revenue Operations (Credit/Collections/AR/CashApp/Support).
  • Align and drive efficiencies across multiple areas of Financial Operations to maximize performance and pursue the achievement of service levels and long-term goals.
  • Oversee customer invoicing, customer collections, cash applications and carrier payments functions.
  • Work closely with department leadership to ensure a strong culture and enjoyable work environment that encourages collaborative communication, professional mentoring and development, ownership in quality work, and accountability.
  • Ensure frequent and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. owners) regarding the financial results as it relates to scope of work.
  • Ensure the Financial Operations SSC/MX team is organized in an efficient way to allow for future growth and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with process owners and internal audit team to ensure the Company's internal control processes are followed and provide recommendations for improvement in both process and controls.
  • Responsible for leading and maintaining process improvements and driving best accounting and reporting practices.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of industry standards and best practices in accounting systems, processes, and reporting practices.
  • Provide GAAP guidance and support within the organization, including research and recommendations.
  • Carries out supervisory and management responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; driving performance; rewarding and coaching employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Coach, train and develop a team while managing the workflow and prioritization of projects and ensuring on-time execution and completion.

Qualifications/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 10+ years in accounting and at least 5+ years of experience in finance leadership roles overseeing a large transactional accounting team preferred
  • Experience at a large and complex organization with multiple systems to manage the day-to-day preferred
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Experience with large scale system implementations such as an ERP or functional applications (i.e. HighRadius, TriumphPay, SalesForce) preferred
  • M&A experience including performing due diligence and post close integration preferred
  • Highly analytical skills with strong business acumen and the ability to transition between the strategic and the detailed (with expert Excel skills)
  • Six-Sigma certification and PMP preferred
  • Hands-on leadership skills with a pragmatic business-focused approach to the delivery of service and projects alike, being decisive and action-oriented, where necessary
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams: achieving organizational focus on key priorities, providing clear direction, delegating, actively communicating and coaching/mentoring
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and presentation skills
