We are looking for a full-time Staff Accountant for an American accounting and consulting firm based in California. This person must have an outstanding English level both written and spoken and excellent customer service skills.

**Job responsibilities**:

- Timely performs assigned recurring accounting duties in accordance with engagement scope. These can include but are not limited to:

- posting accounts payable or account receivable transactions,
- paying vendor and expenses due,
- depositing checks and ensuring all bank transactions are properly recorded
- preparing payroll for third party processing or processing payroll on the clients behalf by the required processing date
- Interacts with clients on a frequent basis, as needed under the scope of each engagement
- Responds timely to client inquiries
- Keeps the Supervising Senior, Manager, Director and Partner informed of any developments or issues on client accounts
- Responsible for their adherence to engagement budgets to ensure overruns are minimized with respect to their time incurred. Needs to possess an understanding of the reasons for their additional spent by themselves on client accounts and timely communicate overruns.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven and thorough understanding of double-entry accounting. Demonstrated performance of accounting tasks.
- Possesses a basic understanding of U.S GAAP and preliminary tax knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in accounting or a related field.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in excel. Knowledge of at least one accounting software program, such as QuickBooks online.
- Bilingual in Spanish or a second language is an advantage.
- American CPA certification would be beneficial.

**What we offer**:

- Monthly salary of $25,000 mxn before taxes
