Cost Analyst

**Position Summary**:
The Cost Analyst is responsible for the proper costing and valuation of materials used for production in our manufacturing facilities. The position has the responsibility to calculate and release accurate standard costs for all materials created, extended, or reactivated. Duties include the development of cost models, accurate quotations, and detailed cost analyses. As a member of our Mexico Supply Chain Finance team, the analyst will also take an active part in carrying tasks that support the plants in the broader NAM region.
- Create and update the standard cost of materials used in production/manufacturing.
- Determine standard costs for all new materials, considering several scenarios, such as component scrap, run rates, material substitution.
- Calculate and extend material costs and reactive materials for multiple plants.
- Calculate, mark and release standard costs in SAP or other manufacturing accounting systems.
- Develop quotes and cost models used to determine profitability for existing materials and new product offerings. Update and create additional model scenarios, as needed.
- STD Cost comparative analysis.
- Meet with cross functional teams to analyze, compare, and breakdown component costs of a materials or group of materials.
- Organize meetings with Manufacturing, Sales, Portfolio to analyze costs, quotations provided.
- Provide accurate information to facilitate decision-making.
- Prepare and execute cost runs (Annual GCR and local runs as needed).
- Support, preparation, and follow-up in gathering technical information required before, during, and after a global, regional, or local costing run is performed.
- Analyze BOM´s and Routes of manufactured materials to ensure accurate standard cost release.
- Coordinate with Material Master Data team on approved production standards aligned with BOM’s and routes.
- Carry-out support activities for the NAM plants as directed, such as updating and issuing reports, coordinating data collection from the plants, or preparing journal entries for the month-end close.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering preferred.
- Experience in cost accounting, financial analysis for national or multinational industrial companies.
- Basic understanding of supply chain dynamics including understanding of key cost drivers, inventory (Inventory Turns, Safety Stock, etc.), and production processes.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet constant deadlines with accuracy and deliver quality analysis.
- Attention to details and results-oriented.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- 2 years of experience in costing and manufacturing plants preferred
- Good command of English - writing ability a must, conversational ability strongly preferred.

- Must be flexible, innovative, creative, and comfortable with setting priorities and managing multiple requests.
- Ability to understand and summarize large sets of data, mainly related to cost analysis.
- Strong planning skills
- Communication and collaboration with members from other countries (USA and LATAM).
