The Category Manager is actively supporting the Category Management in defining a fitting supplier strategy and takes over responsibility for negotiations with suppliers to achieve best market conditions in the respective area.
Your tasks will be including:
Supporting the development of material and suppliers’ strategy by conducting market analysis, closely collaborating with cross-functional partners as well as documenting and implementing accordingly
Initiation of the new Supplier Introduction Process
Definition of the annual supplier list for the respective material groups
Actively influencing the sourcing process during development phase through supplier selection, negotiating prices and commercial conditions and preparing sourcing decision sheets
Ensuring fulfillment of all necessary requirements by negotiating and concluding legally binding contracts with the respective suppliers
Ensuring in-time implementation of correct data in the respective IT-systems
Responsible for monthly controlling and correction of local data and target achievement
**Job Requirements**:
Completed degree in economics, engineering or in a similar field of study.
Several years of professional experience in the area of Purchasing or Category Management, resp. sourcing processes
Several years of experience in the development of strategic approaches and conducting negotiations
Very good knowledge of the MS Office programs
Business fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
Experienced in intercultural, worldwide collaborations
Very good negotiation skills
Independent, structured and analytical way of working as well as the ability to capture complex information and present it visually
Willingness to travel
