**Role Description**:
**Job Duties**:
- Infrastructure Support: Provide L1/2 support for the middleware platform's infrastructure, including dev/pre-production environments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Document Processing: Support the platform in processing documents and their associated metadata, ensuring accurate and timely uploads into content management systems.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the middleware platform, working closely with other IT teams and stakeholders as needed.
- User Support: Provide assistance and support to end-users, addressing their queries and helping them navigate and utilize the platform effectively.
- Coordination: Coordinate efforts such as meetings, work sessions, planning, and troubleshooting with various teams to ensure platform reliability.
- Ticket Management: Manage ServiceNow (SNOW) tickets assigned for the middleware platform, including opening, assigning, and closing support and incident tickets, as necessary. Re-open cases, as necessary.
- Reporting: Provide daily health check reports of the middleware platform (Monday-Friday) and SME logs and support where necessary.
- Proactive monitoring and tuning of JVM/containers to prevent degradation.
- Prepare evidence/logs (Kibana) and collaborate on audits/compliance.
**Technical Environment**:
- Experience with **Docker** containers and pods: oc debug, port-forward, probes (readiness/liveness), logs, and events.
- **Kubernetes / OpenShift**:Deployments, Stateful Sets, Services, Routes, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Volumes/PVC, Horizontal Pod Autoscaler, rollout/rollback, oc / kubectl.
- **Spring Boot**: configuration, Actuator (health/metrics), JAR packaging, profiles, JVM tuning, and properties management.
- **Apache Tomcat**: administration, connector configuration, contexts, session management, and tuning for production.
- Knowledge of traditional **middleware**(e.g., WebSphere/Liberty) and its container equivalent (migrations, JNDI dependencies, data sources).
- Observability/logging: ELK/EFK (Elasticsearch, Logstash/Fluent, Kibana)—searches, dashboards, parsing, and alert creation.
- Monitoring and APM: Prometheus/Grafana, commercial tools (Dynatrace, New Relic), and JVM metrics (GC, heap).
- Integration and messaging: familiarity with JMS/IBM MQ/RabbitMQ/Kafka (connections, tuning, troubleshooting).
- Scripting and automation: Bash, or similar, to automate operational tasks and log parsers.
- Databases and connectivity: JDBC, pool tuning (HikariCP/etc.), DB latency troubleshooting.
- Incident management and runbooks: creation and maintenance of operational playbooks. Networks and security: SSL/TLS, certificates, network policies (NetworkPolicies), authentication/SSO (OIDC/Key cloak), service account management.
**Education & Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Spanish (verbal, written) and Technical English is mandatory ( Intermediate)
**Preferred Qualifications: not mandatory**:
- Oracle/Java SE (or demonstrable experience with Java 8/11/17).
- Courses in observability (ELK, Prometheus) or commercial APMs.
