Progressive Automations has a wide range of products for home automation. The **Embedded** **Software Engineer** will be responsible for developing a firmware foundation for a smart home ecosystem and working on integration with cutting-edge home automation technology - Matter. The embedded software engineer will be responsible for developing features that will increase the value of our home automation products.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Firmware development and testing (C/C++)
- Work on prototypes
- Work on Matter Integration
- Work with the Mobile App development team to integrate the control system into Smart Home.
- Research of technical documentation

**Secondary Responsibilities**:

- Work with the Marketing team to launch products.
- Identity, resolve, and document product issues based on customer feedback, prior product updates, and in-house testing.
- Propose procedural improvements to increase efficiency and quality of work.

**Required Skills and Experiences**:

- Minimum 3 years of experience in firmware or software development (preferably C/C++)
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in software/electrical engineering, or a similar field of study.
- Experience with communication protocols and standards (UART, BLE, Thread)
- Strong communication skills.
- High attention to detail and standard for quality.

**Additional Assets**:

- Knowledge of linear actuators and motor controls.
- Knowledge of Matter smart home standard.
- App development.
- Project management software: Asana.
