Overview:
Product design engineer focus on Cost improvement and VAVE initiatives is responsible to improve product/components based on cost but also improve or maintain the quality of our products across Fixtures category. Leading CI projects and work closely with manufacturing, sourcing, design team and Finance for all products sell in Americas/EMENA

**Responsibilities**:
This individual will be responsible for managing CI- VA/VE projects that require extensive cross-functional and cross-site (including international) coordination. Projects will primarily involve products Chinaware, bathing and vanities in Americas/EMENA. He or she will manage project plans, timelines, budgets, team members, and resources while monitoring the process from concept through implementation. Design for Six Sigma and NPD Stage/Gate processes will be utilized to maximize the quality, speed, and business impact of the projects. The engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Finance, Design, Logistics, and Procurement functions to ensure that optimal business solutions are implemented. Specific responsibilities will include:

- Identifying potential cost out or quality improvement projects
- Defining critical process / product parameters and their targets.
- Managing, planning, scheduling, communicating, facilitating, and reporting project related tasks.
- Coordinating the work of project team members to ensure that project goals are achieved.
- Identifying risks and formulating and executing abatement plans.
- Breaking work down into manageable tasks required to meet project objectives and assigning and/or directing the work of others.
- Leading cross-functional teams.
- Reporting progress to senior management in regular basis
- Follow up the execution of new ideas generated for existing products in order to ensure its correct and timely implementation.
- Work together with manufacturing to provide support and solution to daily problems that may occur during the implementation process
- Review supplier specifications and validate company specifications. If required, approve or reject supplier specifications either graphic or structural.

Qualifications:
**Education** - Bachelor degree -Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or similar.
**Experience** - Minimum of 4 years professional experience in manufacturing, Project Management experience in a consumer durable goods business strongly preferred.

**Knowledge** - Intermediate use of MS Office is required. Knowledge of MS Project or equivalent project management software is preferred. Basic knowledge of CAD software, PTC Pro-E (Creo) Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw or ArtiosCAD is a plus. Fundamental awareness of codes and standards.

**Skills/Abilities** - Intermediate English (written and oral). Strong teamwork, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Willing to travel as required to facilities in Mexico and the US, great attention to details and precision, strong observation and analysis skills.
