Location: Blvd 2000 - Parque Sur Industrial Tijuana, BC Industry: Precision Instruments Manufacturing Department: Finance Position: Cost Accountant Reports to: Controller The Cost Accountant is the financial professional responsible for assessing business costs and expenses and preparing optimized budget plans for their employer. Their duties include reviewing financial records, researching the market rate for key business costs and adjusting the company ledger to accurately reflect balance sheets. This role demands a high level of interaction and collaboration with multiple stakeholders, which intervene in the costing process such as procurement, engineering, operations, planning and finance. Responsibilities: - Collect cost information and maintain the standard cost records in SAP - Determine fixed costs (e.g. depreciation, salaries, rent, insurance, etc.) - Plan and record variable costs (e.g. purchases of raw material and labor costs) - Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. - Participate in the annual cost roll up process and calculation of standard costs. - Analyze cost manufacturing reports for variances, inaccuracies or deviations - Prepare budgeting reports (for the company and for each department) - Analyze and report profit margins - Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts - Assisting in month-end and year-end closing - Collaborate with Engineering and Procurement departments for BOM and routing creation or updates - Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings. - Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program

Experiência y requisitos

Requirements & skills: - Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role - Detailed knowledge of accounting procedures and reporting in a SOX compliance environment - In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US & MX GAAP) - Experience with accounting SAP, Oracle or similar. - Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables) - Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail - Strong time management skills - Accountability and integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information - Ability to work in high collaborative and communication environment - Must be able to adapt to quick changes and embrace challenges with effective approach - BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant study
