Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams, which build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Packaging Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Director, Commodity Management Mechanical, the Packaging Engineer is responsible for the analysis and development of optimal and sustainable packaging commodity solutions for Flex, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with both operational and environmental goals.

What a typical day looks like:

- Support new product introductions (NPI) with the development of cost-efficient and sustainable packaging designs.
- Evaluate and calculate cost reduction, sustainability through packaging improvements and supply chain efficiencies.
- Ability to perform a technical and cost-effective assessment for each packaging solution.
- Manage packaging RFQ and analyze the best option for sourcing.
- Coordinate and process the update of master data and dashboard reports.
- Improve current reporting process (Excel)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sourcing, logistics, and suppliers to ensure alignment and successful implementation of packaging strategies.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

- BA/BS in engineering or a related field.
- Mid experience as a packaging development or packaging sales agent, including designing a package.
- Fluent English.
- Basic financial analysis of projects.
- Excel proficient.
- Packaging material design could be desirable.
- Project Management experience is a plus.
