MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Responsible Sourcing Policy (RSP) sets out the expectations for businesses that want to have a commercial relationship with Unilever. The RSP is managed by a tri-partite leadership between Business Integrity (BI), Global Sustainability Team (GST) and Procurement.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE NEEDED IN SIMILAR ROLES: 5 years

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
The responsibility is segregated such that:

- GST
- Owns and sets the Human Rights standards for Unilever including the RSP
- Develops and delivers capacity building within Unilever
- Leads on Human Rights remediation issues within the Supply Chain
- Subject Matter Experts in Human Rights Endemic Issues and leads interventions to address them with suppliers
- BI
- Responsible for the Compliance & Governance of the RSP within Unilever
- Owns and sets the Anti-Bribery and Corruption standards for Unilever including in the RSP
- Business owner of the Systems used to hold the compliance database
- Leads the risk management strategy and operations and assessment of the programme to ensure appropriate and proportional measures are in place with input from relevant SMEs
- Provides support to Procurement and directly with suppliers on remediation of non-compliances identified throughout the RSP program
- Chairs the Tripartite Steering Group responsible jointly for alignment of the standards set by respective SMEs
- Procurement
- Responsible for the implementation of the RSP programme with suppliers
- Owns and sets the Climate and Environment standards in the RSP
- Leads the on-boarding process and responsible for influencing the suppliers to comply
- Aligns purchasing practices in line with the requirements of the RSP

LEVEL OF EDUCATION NEEDED: Law degree

WHAT YOU´LL NEED TO SUCCEED?

The role will ideally include travel to deliver support to the Procurement teams within the relevant markets.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR MAIN CHALLENGE?

The Responsible Business Assistant Manager will be responsible for leading the RSP work for LATAM and North Americas regions in areas of Human Rights / Responsible Business partnering with the Procurement, Supplier Operations and Global Sustainability team. The person will support the relevant Procurement teams with analytics, insights, and tools to enable Procurement to drive the performance among the supplier base and direct support on remediation of non-compliances.

The Responsible Business Assistant Manager will be responsible to support the Procurement team and directly with suppliers in effective remediation of non-compliances for non-standard issues that the Supplier Operations team are unable to address. This will involve assessing the Corrective Action Plans and Root Cause Analysis of non-compliances identified through the ABC Scanning and/or through ethical audits of suppliers’ sites and working with suppliers to determine suitable remediation actions. Subject matter expertise in Human Rights, Labour Rights, Health & Safety will be required.

The Responsible Business Assistant Manager will support the development and implementation of the RSP compliance programme as a global coverage model, inclusive of all Unilever group companies in the LATAM and North America Market. Integrated companies and functions are directly included and new acquisitions, non-integrated companies or functions will be evaluated on a risk-based approach to identify gaps and implement appropriate and proportional solutions.
