**Accounting Analyst**

We are hiring an **Accounting Analyst** to be responsible for part of the accounting function at the Steelcase-owned sales office in Mexico City. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager of Steelcase de Mexico and oversee various accounting areas. Key aspects of the role include participating on inventory accounting, accruals and key provisions, vendor and payment management, fixed assets, balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations. The role is pivotal in in the monthly close process and will work with the team to prepare financial statements for both Mexico and US GAAP ledgers.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Primarily in charge of the accounting for day-to-day operations, accounts payable disbursements, journalizing and reconciling accruals and key provisions and Inventory reconciliations and fixed assets.
- Supports the process of proper expense classification according to invoiced concepts
- Intercompany operations booking and reconciliation
- Provides general accounting support for prepaid expenses, deposits in guarantee, deferred revenue and customer deposits
- Participates in month-end close for corporate reporting and statutory financial statements
- Executes on various controls in relevant areas including account reconciliations
- Assists the Accounting Manager in various ad-hoc projects to improve automation, efficiency, and standardization among México entities

**Who You Are**:
**Required Skills and Competencies**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Minimum of 3 years of applicable work experience
- Experience working with U.S.based companies (preferably public)
- Have worked in commercial companies and has proven experiences making accounting and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP-system, preferred
- Evidence of ability to speak and write in advanced English
- Experience working with multinational companies desired.

- Possesses a high degree of analytical skillset. Can settle causes of more sophisticated problems and implement solutions as requested that align with the overall Finance and business strategy; ability to think critically and strategize with every level of the Steelcase to achieve results.
- Effective communicator to different leaders and individual contributors of the company; experience in communicating with both internal and external stakeholder’s; comfortable in expressing dissenting points of view, ability to communicate rationale in a professional manner; can lead meetings/presentations and offer poignant insights to those in the organization.
