Job Requirements
- Is responsible for overall P&L, growth, and profitability of the Chubb travel insurance portfolio in the Latin America Region.
- Works with all underwriters in the regional and country teams to impart ownership responsibility, technical expertise, strategic thinking ability, negotiation skills, and industry knowledge and interest. Acts as a mentor and manager to those with solid line reporting and dotted line reporting.
- Is responsible for portfolio management through monthly result analysis and monitoring underwriting controls. Coordinates with all country teams to ensure that results are being properly ref lected in published financial reports.
- Is responsible for leading the P&L strategy for all major regional travel insurance distribution deals.
- Supports country teams in working with Legal and Compliance to ensure all product and sales process related materials are compliant according to the associated regulations and that the underwriting staff is aware of these policies and their impact on providing A&H products and services.
- Establishes strategies for integrating the fundamentals of revenue maximization with core traditional underwriting functions and contributes revenue maximization thought leadership.
- Works with regional and global Actuarial to analyze and interpret performance trends and ref ine technical rating.
- Supports product innovation initiatives in countries when appropriate for profit and/or revenue maximization, or for new business proposals.
- Coordinates periodic competitor strategy reviews.
- Coordinates and collaborates with the global A&H actuarial team and the travel predictive modelling team to build pricing models and rate relativity models.
- Coordinates and collaborates with the global A&H data and analytics team in the context of building dashboards, monitoring solutions, and respective analytical models.
- Is responsible for auditing policies and accounts including annual state audits.
- Visits and/or collaborates with clients to promote Chubb partnership, revenue maximization strategies, and services in order to reinforce the relationship model and to encourage business development.
- Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned. Supports and leads audits where required.

Work Experience

Technical Knowledge and Experience
- University graduate, Technical Careers preferred (Business, Actuarial Science, Engineering, etc.)
- Software Knowledge: Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word capabilities; database and query, programming, Qlikview knowledge a plus
- Proactive, business-focused, problem solver
- At least 5 years of experience in underwriting and pricing, ideally for travel insurance
- Experience with pricing product distribution and structuring programs
- In depth knowledge or interest in the travel industry, ancillary revenue, and partnership strategies.
- Available to travel
- Strong interpersonal and motivational skills (good people manager)
- Strong communication skills (sales-oriented)
- Strong Initiative and Drive - entrepreneurial spirit is required
- Flexible and adaptable with ability to react positively to changes and revise methods and priorities as required
