Plant Controller

Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller to join our growing Finance and Plant Leadership team in Juarez, Mexico.

The position will reporting directly to Corporate headquarters and operationally to the Plant Manager. Initially, the Plant Controller will manage one (1) plant, however, we are expanding and inprocess of opening a 2nd plant in the area. Finance for both plants will be lead by this controller.

This Plant Controller is responsible for the financial and manufacturing accounting, financial reporting, payroll and internal controls at the plant(s). The Plant Controller will provide financial leadership and awareness to the plant(s), internal business partners and Corporate, as well as, ensure alignment of processes and procedures with other plants/locations. This position is also responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in partnership with the Plant Leadership Team to ensure the achievement of plant goals and objectives. In addition, this position will manage and develop current staff (team of 8) to further build and grow the capaiblities of the Mexico Finance team.

English fluency is required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manages the issuance of monthly reporting results, forecasts, annual operating plans and long-term capital planning initiatives.
- Produces a monthly controller’s report for the Plant Manager and other executive management, as needed; that details the business’ operational performance.
- Execute value-added analysis and provide decision making support for special plant projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for preparing the annual plant operating budget and related capital requirements. Will also prepare and submit the monthly operating forecast, incorporating changes in plant production volume.
- Engaging with plant leadership to support plant capabilities required to meet future needs.
- Participates in regular plant management meetings. Provides leadership with guidance and analytics on plant financials and facility performance.
- Performs regular walkthroughs of the plant with the Plant Management to discuss production, costing and capacity issues.
- Assure adherence to local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Resolves questions of US GAAP adherence and internal controls with corporate financial management.
- Responsible for adherence to local finance and tax law and regulation to ensure the compliance.
- Responsible for setting and managing plant internal controls.
- Provides leadership in the identification and mitigation of plant level risks.
- Responsible for perpetual inventory integrity and investigating material variances.
- Analyzes potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
- Manages plant Finance staff (team of 8) with responsibility for hiring, mentoring, training, evaluating, and addressing performance gaps.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA is a plus
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Financial Accounting and at least 8 years of management responsibility in manufacturing base of multi-national company.
- Enlish Fluency is a must.
- Ability to make business case study and business decision appropriately;
- Previous experience in supporting a growing company.
- Previous experience in establishing company policies, operational objectives, and work plans.
- Ability to work on issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives, as well as an understanding of company culture.
- Able to establish and ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and business activities.
- Able to interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
- Demonstrates the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others, without damaging the relationship.
