Mission of the SW Discipline Quality Manager in Project
- Coaches, consults and supports discipline teams regarding the SW development process deployment and use of methods and tools.
- Estimates, plans and executes the activities for:
a) Evaluating and reporting the process deployment and the quality of work products according to guidelines
b) Monitoring resolution and closure of Non-Conformances
c) Monitoring the achievement of SW quality goals with the help of methods, models and tools according to the process
d) Escalation of the Non-Conformances and/or non-achievement of significant quality goals
- Continuously looks for improvements of processes & methods, including the deployment and adaptation.
- Coaches, supports & trains new SW Q engineers.

Main specific tasks
Planning
- Makes tailoring and applicable adaptation proposals ensuring process and requirements compliance
- Ensures Risk Management is initiated and properly driven
- Creates and keeps estimations up to date considering project scope changes

Execution
- Executes SW Quality Assurance activites identified and defined for every project phase
- Initiates and ensures resolution of SW related Quality Assurance issues
- Evaluates, proposes solutions and ensures resolution and closure of Non-Conformances and effects
- Monitors and initiates action related to SW risks and metrics, including specific quality goals and quality / safety / security characteristics required by the customer.
- Supports resolution of Problems through formal techniques

Reporting and Analysis
- Reports the Project Quality status considering the overall quality of work products, Non-Conformances and risks; making it available for the organization stakeholders and management.
- Reports & escalates SW quality / safety / security issues independently.

Mentoring and Coaching
- Provides mentoring or coaching to SW and other disciplines and development teams according to their needs, based on the standard processes, guidelines and project specific strategies.

Strategy definition & ASPICE
- Proposes general approaches, improvements, applicable adaptations and participates during definition of project/location implementation strategies with strong focus on ASPICE compliance
- Participates in the preparation and execution of internal, external & customer audits/assessments related to SW quality & SW development. (ASPICE, TS16949)
