Role Member of LAC Casualty Leadership Team, this position will report to the Products Director and Property Head and be overseen by the LAC Regional Head of Property and Casualty. Contribution at AIG As a People Manager of an underwriting team composed by other six underwriters, this leader will guide, motivate, and develop our talents, and empower and coach underwriters toward higher levels of performance. This position is responsible for developing business strategies and/or translating those strategies into meaningful outcomes and ultimately, business results. As an underwriting manager, his/her responsibility will reach across geographical and functional boundaries to create alliances that further the organization’s objectives and market position. A deep specialization in Casualty business is required to allow foreseeing external conditions that could potentially affect AIG’s future. Based in Mexico City, the role will directly lead our Casualty Lines of Business. Key Responsibilities - Define the strategy of Casualty in Mexico, aligned with LAC´s and International Commercial Casualty strategies. Drive the Casualty vision and value proposition. Recognize and respond to changing business and competitive environment dynamics to further progress the strong value we bring to our clients. - Find, recruit, train, develop and retain high performance people - Support Casualty six underwriters in making business decisions that leverage their expertise and experience in combination with powerful analytical models. Provide referral support in line with own underwriting authority. - Develop and deliver innovative, market-leading products and services that meet our customers dynamic needs in a manner that effectively leverages AIG strengths as a competitive differential in the marketplace. - Drive underwriting and operational excellence across all Casualty businesses, within Global guardrails and in collaboration with the Regional P&C Head, by ensuring adherence to underwriting methodology, risk appetite, line setting, guidelines, business rules and pricing adequacy. - Promote synergies among all Distribution, other underwriting teams, and other support staff. - Collaborate with Claims to ensure a reputation of Claims excellence in the marketplace and with Actuarial on creating and maintaining effective pricing tools. - Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, producers, reinsurers and other partners.
