**Responsibilities**:
- While working in a fast-paced environment, have primary responsibility for all aspects of the accounting system and general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and audits.
- Payroll management, expense oversight and forecasting, customer billing and reconciliation, and NPO planning.
- Guide junior-level staff members and ensure adherence to processes.
- Respond to periodic and ad hoc requests as required.
- Oversee month-end closing procedures and special projects as needed.
- Lead yearly tax filings with an external tax accountant.
- Collaborate and provide support to cross-functional teams.
**Requirements**:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is strongly preferred.
- 4+ years of accounting experience.
- 3+ years of QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving spirit.
- Ability to communicate well internally and externally with clients/vendors.
- Detail-oriented and able to efficiently manage multiple work efforts simultaneously.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, index/match, etc.).
- Proficient in English
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Passion for our mission and the desire to make an impact in the world through technology.
