**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Internal alignment and coordination**:Understands and integrates business goals of different divisions to the work of public policy. Diplomatically educates other departments about public policy. Works closely with other departments to create a cohesive approach to policy engagement.
- **Stakeholder engagement**:Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials and lawmakers. Advocates for policies beneficial to BBVA’s interests and work towards mitigating the impact of unfavorable policies.
- **Representing BBVA in industry groups**:Represents BBVA Open Banking interests in industry groups, keeps track of issues and work streams and achieves coalitions in favor of policies that are beneficial to BBVA’s interests.
- **Policy analysis**:Analyses policy trends, locally and internationally on areas relevant to the team such as foreign policy, trade, US-Mexico relation, infrastructure, development, security, among other.This includes legislative, regulatory and political environments and crafting policy documents in both narrative and presentation formats.
- **Project management**:You will have the opportunity to lead on key projects of the policy strategy and will be required to coordinate, communicate, and deliver projects which could vary from lobbying a particular issue to delivering a key event with senior stakeholder attendance.
- **Compliance and Ethics**:You will ensure that lobbying and advocacy efforts do not exceed all relevant laws and ethical standards.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Law, Economics, International Relations or a related field; Master's degree in Public Policy preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of Public Policy experience, including experience in a public policy role within government or the private sector.
- Strong understanding of the financial sector and the current policy environment.
- Proven track record of influencing policy outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into public policy initiatives.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both in speaking and writing.
