**The Role**:
Typically:
The Commercial Advisor provides commercially focused advice and completes contract negotiation that is in line with Shell Trading & Supply policies and guidelines. The Commercial Advisor must possess Commercial Acumen and is responsible for the management of the commodity contract process from the provision of pre-deal commercial advice, to drafting, analysis, negotiation, internal authorization, and dispatch of execution documents.

The Commercial Advisor identifies risks associated with deviations to Shell Energy’s standard contract terms, reviews complex transaction confirmations and reviews and negotiates other contracts related to Shell Energy's natural gas and power marketing and trading activities. The Commercial Advisor works with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate contracts that bring value to Shell Energy, while minimizing risk. A Commercial Advisor is expected to possess a comprehensive knowledge of how commodity markets function in Mexico and be proficient in negotiating commodity agreements.

The Commercial Advisor works in close collaboration with the Sales & Origination team and obtains requisite input from Internal Stakeholders, such as Credit, Finance, Tax, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance. Once negotiations are finalized, the Commercial Advisor ensures that all necessary approvals and waivers are obtained prior to executions documents, in compliance with Shell Trading & Supply policies. The Contract Team maintains applicable contract records in accordance with Shell record retention polices and external regulatory
