The Senior Buyer leads the strategic sourcing strategies that deliver economic and cost efficiencies, supply assurance and quality for TransPak needs. The Senior Buyer works across departments and coordinates with the Metal Team to deliver maximum value to internal customers. This role reports to the Commodity Manager-NA and Global Commodity Manager-Metals and provides the opportunity to make your mark and bring your innovative procurement strategies and stakeholder successes.

1. Strategic Metal Supply Chain Strategies
- Strategically develop the Metal supply chain strategies while maintaining optimal inventory levels and delivering year-over-year cost improvements and support on-time customer deliveries.
- Develop and foster relationships to ensure adequate supply and competitive advantage in cost, quality, lead-time, inventory and payment terms.
- Provide commodity price guidance and market intelligence to leadership.
- Direct and manage category supplier selection and negotiation.
- Negotiate and execute purchase orders and supplier contracts with existing and new suppliers.

2. Leadership Metrics/Planning
- Liaise with counterparts in other functional areas such as Finance, Customer Service, Sales, Quality, and Warehouse personnel to ensure alignment of activities and objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and leverage planning.
- Establish measureable performance metrics to include supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, financial performance, and material shortage elimination.

Experiência y requisitos
- 3+ years of purchasing and supply chain experience, preferably focused in the metal or equivalent industry
- Strong working knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and an innovative approach to problem solving and negotiating
- Spanish & English speaking is required
- Excellent MS Office skills and ERP experience (Sage X3 ERP experience is a plus)
