**General description**:
An Import/Export Specialist in a plant with IMMEX (Manufacturing Industry, Maquiladora and Export Services Industry) program manages and oversees the import and export of goods, ensuring compliance with Mexican customs regulations, international trade agreements, and the IMMEX program requirements. This involves coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure efficient and compliant movement of goods across borders. It is a hands-on role responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of importing or exporting goods, ensuring compliance with all trade regulations.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

⚫ Documentation management: Preparing, reviewing, and submitting all necessary import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, customs declarations, certificates of origin, and other required permits and licenses.

⚫ Customs Compliance: Ensuring all shipments comply with local, national, and international customs laws and regulations. This includes proper classification of goods (HS codes), calculating duties and taxes, and handling customs clearance procedures.

⚫ Logistics Coordination: Arranging and coordinating transportation (ocean, air, land freight), warehousing, and distribution of goods with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and other logistics providers.

⚫ Shipment Tracking: Monitoring the progress of shipments from origin to destination, troubleshooting any delays or issues that arise during transit (e.g., customs holds, damaged goods).

⚫ Vendor and Customer Communication: Communicate with suppliers, customers, and government agencies to ensure smooth operations and resolve any inquiries or problems. ⚫ Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all import/export transactions, including documentation, tariffs, and trade agreements.

⚫ Regulatory Updates: Staying informed about changes in international trade laws, regulations, and policies (e.g., tariffs, sanctions, free trade agreements) and implementing necessary adjustments.

⚫ Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues such as customs delays, shipment errors, or compliance discrepancies.

⚫ Cost Optimization: Identifying opportunities to reduce costs related to shipping, duties, taxes, and other logistics expenses. Negotiating rates with service providers.

⚫ Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for import/export operations, such as on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance rates.

⚫ Process Improvement: Identifying inefficiencies in current import/export processes and recommending and implementing solutions for optimization, automation, and improved compliance.

⚫ Compliance Auditing: Conducting internal audits to ensure adherence to trade regulations and internal policies.

⚫ Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, specialized logistics/ERP systems).

⚫ Shipment Arrangement: Coordinating with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to book cargo space and arrange transportation.

⚫Ingles indispensable nível avanzado

⚫ Profundo conocimiento de las normativas de importación y exportación, procedimientos aduaneros y legislación comercial internacional.

⚫ Sólidos conocimientos de software de logística y gestión de inventarios, como Microsoft Office, Annex 24 (i-xport) y ERP (Oracle JDE, si corresponde).

⚫ Excelentes habilidades analíticas, de resolución de problemas y organizativas.

⚫ Excelentes habilidades organizativas y de comunicación, así como capacidad de investigación y pensamiento crítico.

⚫ Atención al detalle y precisión en la documentación.

⚫ Capacidad para trabajar bajo presión y gestionar múltiples tareas.
