The Cost Accountant has responsibility for the cost of the product, ensuring that costing is accurate through hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly reviews and analysis of efficiency, labor, and material reports. With production personnel. Prepares reports and analysis for review. Analyze trends and variations in expenses that may impact costs. The Cost accountant understands and performs financial statement analysis, balance sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, and journal entries. Ensures calculation and review monthly of relevant cost accruals, freight, inventory, and cycle count among others. Cost Rollup activities and quarterly BOM reviews and updates. Will assist in developing the budget, forecasting, and financial analysis. Performs month-end close activities related to Cost Accounting and finances. Administrative tasks as may be required. The position maintains the integrity of the accounting records and reports for Nextgen as well as all cost accounting and inventory controls for the US and Mexico-based organizations. Additionally, the Cost Accountant is responsible for adhering to the requirements of Labor Law and company HR policies and procedures.
