Global Payroll Operations Supervisor

**About Rippling**:
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
**About the role**
Rippling is looking for a strategic leader to join our rapidly growing Global Payroll Operations team. As we expand globally, this role is critical to supporting the success of our fully integrated global payroll products.
The Global Payroll Operations Supervisor will oversee all payroll operations for LATAM, ensuring timely and compliant execution. This position requires close collaboration with internal R&D, treasury, and third-party partners to maintain smooth operations and foster strong relationships. Additionally, the role will drive Rippling’s expansion into new customer segments and regions while providing country-specific payroll expertise to support our natively built payroll software.
This is a high-impact role, requiring cross-departmental collaboration and direct influence on product development, customer experience, and team growth in the LATAM region.
**What you will do**
- Lead, hire, and train a growing team to support market expansion and operational scaling.
- Drive team performance, ensuring KPIs and deadlines are consistently met.
- Monitor and report on team progress, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement scalable, error-free processes that are easy to learn, expand, and measure.
- Facilitate training and development to build a high-performing team.
- Support issue resolution by collaborating with government agencies, partners, and customers.
- Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Collaborate with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to:
- Ensure payroll software meets payroll and tax compliance requirements.
- Address product issues (e.g., calculation or file generation errors) quickly.
- Prioritize and implement internal tooling needs.
**What you will need**
- 7+ years of experience in global payroll processing, with at least 2+ years managing payroll operations and 4+ years in a client-facing role.
- Proven experience managing a large team.
- Strong LATAM payroll expertise (Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, etc.). Experience in all countries is not required.
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end payroll processes and regulations, including taxes, Social Security registration, and filings, with the ability to guide specialists across LATAM.
- Experience with both in-house payroll processing and partner payroll providers.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage ad-hoc projects alongside daily operations.
- Proficient in Google Suite or Microsoft Office (Docs, Sheets, Excel) for data analysis and task management. Familiarity with Salesforce, JIRA, and Confluence is a plus.
- Experience with payroll systems and software.
- Strong English fluency and communication skills.
**Additional Information**:
Rippling highly values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture. For office-based employees (employees who live within a defined radius of a Rippling office), Rippling considers working in the office, at least three days a week under current policy, to be an essential function of the employee's role.
This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. The salary for US-based employees will be aligned with one of the ranges below based on location; see which tier applies to your location here.
