Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to join the extraordinary. As a key leader in the opening of this exciting and ambitious property in Playa Mujeres, the Commercial Director will play a pivotal role in building the business and the team alike, in shaping the guest experience, and in driving the overall commercials. This role will report to the General Manager, is a member of the Executive Committee, and has a tremendous opportunity to take on more as Ennismore further expands into Mexico.

As the Commercial Director of this property, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to maximize revenue, enhance brand reputation and drive overall commercial success. This role is responsible for leading the Sales and Marketing Teams in all sales-related activities, including direct sales efforts, marketing campaigns and strategy, follow-up and proper sales administration. Given this as an opening of an all-inclusive property, this role is also responsible for sourcing and growing all accounts, generating business to ensure that revenues meet or exceed budget in order to maximize revenue and profits, and to achieve overall success in the marketplace.

What you'll do...

Strategy

Develop comprehensive revenue generation strategies aligned with the hotel's business objectives and market trends. Identify new revenue streams and opportunities to optimize yield across all hotel facilities and services. Implement promotional campaigns and packages to drive occupancy and revenue growth. Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales and marketing plan, monthly goals, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports . Develop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management with the Director of Revenue Management. Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies. Conduct ongoing market research, competitor analysis, and consumer insights to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats. Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and adapt commercial strategies accordingly.

Sales and Marketing Management

Direct, coordinate, train and supervise al sales and marketing teams to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue for the hotel. Oversee the development and execution of innovative marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and advertising strategies to enhance brand visibility and attract high-value guests. Cultivate strategic partnerships with travel agencies, tour operators, corporate clients and industry influencers to expand market reach. Recruit, direct, manage, train and counsel sales and marketing teams. Oversee departmental matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws. Provide inspirational leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the commercial team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Recruit, train, and develop high-performing talent, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values. Conduct and attend daily business review meetings, weekly strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings as needed. Manage and direct all advertising, public relations and promotional activities. Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team. Meet or exceed established goals including budget and forecasts, for the sales segments, as well as RGI

Key Leadership

Represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events. Participate as team player with other key executive members. Provide constructive feedback to all departments and to hotel sales, catering and marketing teams. Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with the executive committee as well as the VP of Sales, Americas and Ennismore’s Brand Marketing Teams. Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with other departments to drive integrated commercial strategies and seamless guest experiences. Monitor financial performance against targets, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve profitability goals.
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For...

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred. Proven track record of at least 5 years in commercial leadership roles within the all-inclusive hospitality industry, with a focus on upscale resorts or luxury/lifestyle hotels. Must have comprehensive knowledge of all-inclusive resorts, particularly in Mexico. Strong business acumen, financial literacy, and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and profitability. Proficiency in revenue management systems, CRM platforms, and digital marketing tools. Knowledge of global luxury travel trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape. Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a passion for developing talent and fostering a culture of excellence. An intermediate to proficient understanding of Computer and Sales systems such as Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, Opera, Delphi, Cevent, Lanyon strongly preferred. Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high level attention to detail Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other team members and departments Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb and carry objects as necessary. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak and understand English as well as Spanish.
