The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated Senior Graphic Designer. This is a hybrid position located in Mexico City, MX near The World Trade Center.

The Senior Graphic Designer is part of the In-House Agency at Avantor, a Fortune 500 global organization. The In-House Agency supports a global internal client base that sells and promotes its products and services to a wide range of external customers. This Senior Graphic Designer, reporting to the Art Director, is an upper-level working role, collaborating in a global team setting with various Designers, the Art Director, and the Creative Director on a variety of projects and assignments. Assignments primarily come from the Art Director, Project Manager, or the client directly, and, at times, senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual, with well-developed critical thinking skills who can process, react to, and solve problems promptly as they arise.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Four-year related degree (Or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 7 years design experience in an in-house creative department or design firm

THOSE NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE JOB COMPETENTLY:

Must be able to communicate in English C2 (Verbal and Written)

Possess a high level of proficiency in design principles, including layout, composition, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy. They should be able to create visually compelling and innovative designs that align with the company's brand and objectives.

A strong portfolio that showcases aesthetic awareness and the ability to lead in design problem-solving abilities

Be adept at creating designs for both print and digital media. This includes web design, social media graphics, interactive designs, video graphics, and more.

Strong creative, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The ability to understand and align design projects with the company's overall business goals and target audience is crucial. Senior Designers should be able to translate marketing strategies into visual concepts that resonate with the intended audience.

Expert knowledge in graphic production process

Work well with tight deadlines in a team environment

Able to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision

Adaptable and quick learner. Must be able to apply style guides creatively while upholding brand standards

Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) is essential. The ability to leverage advanced features of these tools is necessary for producing high-quality designs efficiently.

Familiarity with Adobe Workfront or a comparable project management system is preferable.

Adobe InDesign experience is required.

Biopharma or life-science background is preferable.

Experience with Marvia software is a plus.

HOW YOU WILL THRIVE AND CREATE AN IMPACT:

Guide and advise fellow associates in both the creative process and client management to foster stronger working relationships and solutions

Communicate and facilitate the art direction and formatting of design deliverables and produce necessary communications pieces in both print and digital environments for a range of clients

Collaborate internally as well as with clients to conceptualize and execute creative solutions that can be translated across various media platforms

Provide constructive feedback and contribute to a positive team dynamic

Keeping informed on latest trends and forecasts

Working closely with the Art Director to deliver solutions within budget

Pre and post-production quality checks

Submit creative deliverables within the agreed upon deadline and budget to the Art Director, provide accurate time estimates

Attend meetings as assigned

Design of marketing communication pieces including overall theme development, individual piece designs, etc.

Manage production of all print pieces from conception to completion

Provide guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to junior designers. Strong leadership skills are important for fostering a positive and productive work environment.
