Role Definition : Lead and govern solutions on packaging design and usage and related safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Designing packaging for products or parts; providing detailed guidance, troubleshooting and specifications to suppliers.

• Working with parts and material suppliers to determine the optimal method of packaging product for various distribution networks.

• Leading the review and approving all packaging for a specific product line. Monitoring and evaluating quality and effectiveness of existing packaging; addressing issues caused by transportation damage.

• Researching packaging materials, automation technologies and machinery, and reporting the results regularly.

Manufacturing Application Systems : Knowledge of company and industry databases and applications used in a manufacturing environment; ability to operate, maintain and update these systems.

Level Working Knowledge :

• Uses and maintains information or data stored in specific application; reports unusual situations.

• Documents the major interfaces and dependencies to and from other systems.

• Follows procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of the databases.

• Uses all basic features of the information system in context of own work.

• Works with a specific type of manufacturing application or information system.

Packaging : Knowledge of packaging tools, approaches and practices; ability to package products and components safely and attractively.

Level Extensive Experience:

• Establishes packaging schedules and prepares packing materials, as needed.

• Evaluates different package materials and technologies and analyzes costs and benefits.

• Adjusts machines to conform to multiple changes in products or packing.

• Researches, pilots and implements intelligent packaging technologies.

• Coordinates complex tasks with different types of packaging, including non-traditional hybrid systems.

• Advises on packaging quality control and packaging/product interactions.

What You Have:

• College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience, is required.

• CAD or other similar electronic drafting experience is required.

• Fluent English

• Experience with 6 Sigma Project teams

• CPS Functional Job Role Qualified

• APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills

• Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures

• Thorough knowledge of Standard Practice 20, corporate shipping guidelines, quality and cleanliness specifications and inventory warehousing standards.

• A background in Manufacturing, Operations, Inventory Management, Material Requirements and/or Supply Chain/Logistics is highly desired.
