Alcon is a leading multi-national medical devices company focused on Ocular Health. To support commercial operations across the globe, we have dedicated centers with professionals covering a wide range of enabling functions, and this position is located within the Finance umbrella, in the Business Planning and Analysis division.
This Sr. BPA analyst position is meant to support Alcon affiliates that are based in several countries across Latin America. Both Spanish and English at a working level are needed to be able to perform the activities.
Main responsibilities:
Business Performance Analysis
Results presentationPresent commercial Profit & Loss results to both financial and non-financial audiences.
Variance explanationAnalyze costs and expenses directly related to commercial operations and explain variations versus budget and other forecasts.
Business PartnershipSupport commercial & financial heads and colleagues with insights regarding the business performance from a financial point of view.
Results visibility
Commercial Financials ReportingControl and ensure adequate reporting of commercial expenses, connecting with associates involved and defining accruals or reclassifications needed.
Month-close reviewReview preliminary and final costs and expenses to provide early visibility of relevant drivers or to perform corrections if needed. Issue resolution
Proactively identify financial reporting areas of opportunity and follow-up with the appropriate parties to control and correct.
Financial Planning
TargetLead and submit the budget for commercial cost and expenses, incorporating feedback from applicable departments and stakeholders. Quarterly forecasts
Update full year expectations from a financial point of view on a quarterly basis.
Intra-month estimatesIdentify and align main deviations from the latest forecast provided, to keep an updated expectation of the current quarter.
Financial Operations Strategic Optimization
Priority alignmentActively participate in weekly team meetings to align priorities and share progress. Time optimization
Implement and maintain standardized ways of working to optimize our work.
Best practice sharingLead & develop projects to improve our processes to add value to the business.
Technical abilities:
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point (required) Strong logical and mathematical mindset (required) Advanced Spanish (required), professional advanced English (required), intermediate portuguese (preferred) Database, process mapping, visualization and/or programming knowledge that would help to consolidate & analyze data from several sources (preferred) Presentation skills (preferred) Business, financial and/or accounting knowledge (preferred)Educational Background:
Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting-
