The roles of this position are focused to ensure the product quality, coordinating incoming inspections, supporting releasing the work orders for production, managing material review board (MRB) processes, handling customer shipments, conducting quality training, developing inspection sheets for new part numbers, and maintaining controlled documentation.

Key Accountabilities:

  Ensuring Product Quality:

Implement and uphold quality standards and procedures to ensure products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality audits and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards.

Coordinating Incoming Inspections:

Coordinate and perform inspections of incoming materials, components, and parts to assess quality and conformity to specifications. Communicate inspection results to relevant stakeholders and manage any nonconformances through corrective actions.

Supporting in Work Order Release for Production:

Assist in releasing work orders for production based on approved inspection results and quality criteria. Collaborate with production planning to schedule and prioritize production activities effectively.

  Managing Material Review Board (MRB) Processes:

Manage the MRB process for nonconforming materials or products, including evaluation, disposition (e.g., rework, scrap), and documentation of decisions. Work cross-functionally to resolve quality issues impacting production and delivery schedules.

Handling Customer Shipments:

Oversee the preparation and coordination of customer shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, packaging, and compliance with shipping requirements. Liaise with logistics partners to arrange timely and efficient delivery of products to customers.

  Conducting Quality Training:

Develop and deliver quality training programs for new hires and existing employees, focusing on quality standards, procedures, inspection techniques, and regulatory compliance. Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.

  Creating Inspection Sheets for New Part Numbers:

Develop inspection sheets and procedures for new part numbers or engineering changes to ensure consistent and thorough inspection processes, bubble prints. Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

  Maintaining Controlled Documentation:

Maintain controlled documentation related to quality processes, inspections, production releases, MRB activities, customer shipments, and training records. Ensure documentation is organized, accessible, and compliant with internal QMS and regulatory requirements.

Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors

Technical Expertise in quality control methods, inspection techniques, and quality management systems (QMS). Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering or related. General knowledge of manufacturing industry, preferably specific to Aerospace. Knowledge of metals, processing, and all related information necessary to communicate effectively internally and externally. Familiarity with commodities to be purchased, sources of supply, market conditions and available products. Knowledge in MRB system. Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures and corporate national agreements. Flexibility and creativity in developing new methodology and ideas to achieve cost reduction and/or efficiencies in operation. Must have excellent advance skills in Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookups, etc). Outside process (heat treating, platting, outside machining) a plus. Must have basic knowledge reading blueprints and routings. Must have excellent communications skills.
