Visteon is where the best technical talent creates the future.**About Visteon****Mechanical, Displays & Optics Mechanical Engineering Manager****The Role**The MDO is the organization within Visteon responsible for all product development, related to mechanical engineering, displays, materials and optics. This position is for a manager in the MDO located in Queretaro, Mexico that will be responsible for all MDO activities supporting mainly Americas OEM programs.This position is required to meet our obligations for the successful delivery of our Americas Customer Programs on-time within the assigned Budget and Quality requirements.**Key Job Responsibilities**- Manage a team of approx. 30 people to deliver all mechanical, optical and display related engineering work products for mainly Americas projects.- Assess current skill mix in the team, and compare to future needs. Develop action plans accordingly.- Work with Americas Customer regional Applications managers to develop action plan to maintain the ME project work from Americas regions in Queretaro.- Actively coach/mentor the team members in their technical and management skills, ways of interacting with the Americas engineering teams, and customer expectations.- Responsible for the MDO project planning, staffing, execution and delivery.- Responsibilities of the budgets and expenses for your team.- For developing and tracking the appropriate metrics to monitor and improve the performance of your team- Ensuring Visteon engineering process compliance for all tasks undertaken by your team and participation with Global process development and improvement activities.- Support TQCM/VAVE and Benchmarking initiatives.**Job Critical Context**- This position and your team support Americas customers, and Global Visteon manufacturing plants and suppliers, International travel will be required.- As part of a global team, flexibility in dealing with discussions in multiple time zones is required.**The Requirements**- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related.- A strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering in electro-mechanical automotive modules (modules containing electronics).- Demonstrable knowledge/experience in recruiting and team building.- Automotive experience with different OEMs- Experience managing a large team of Engineers (30) in a development environment- Evidence of high work output, and ability to meet tight deadlines will be needed.- Demonstrate ability to effectively manage and deliver complex development/manufacturing projects.- Fluent in English- This job requires a person with very strong Communication, Leadership & interpersonal skills, able to motivate and lead a large team executing multiple complex Projects within a demanding environment.
