Career Area:Engineering**Job Description**:- Ensuring data integrity, release, and maintenance of product structures for assigned product lines including NPI and Sustaining designs.- The review and audit of submitted designs and related documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency between databases as well as compliance with company and department policies and procedures. Tasks include, but are not limited to, the registration of release history, and the maintenance of product data management systems.- Lead meetings to evaluate the impact to the company resulting from changes related to the utilization of inventory and other affected areas and organizations.- Participates in internal and cross-functional Rapid Improvement and 6 Sigma Projects. Develops and contributes improvement ideas to continually improve the quality of change control and documentation management, as well as the simplification of associated business processes.- Provide leadership and be the focal point in the development and integration of complex product structures for both new and maturing products in multiple life cycle changes.- Participates in the creation, training, and deployment of Enterprise solutions and software as Subject Matter Experts for Configuration and Data Management.- May lead, direct, and audit work of the Change Administrators.- Minimum requirements- English speaking required, Passport to the USA required- Bachelor’s degree, or in lieu of degree, 7+ years equivalent work experience- 3+ years of direct experience with degree- Experience interfacing with customers- Experience in Project Management- Experience with Windchill or similar Product Data Management Systems- Experience with change management processes- General understanding of turbomachinery products and structures including aftermarket- Experience interpreting and accurately communicating the intent of engineering changes- Experience using Microsoft O365-Teams, One Drive, etc.- Preference:- Knowledge of 6 Sigma and other process improvement methodologies. Experience in remanufacturing- Extensive Windchill experience- BAAN system experience- Experience providing training- Good foundational understanding of design and manufacturing processes- Team-oriented approach to problem solving and continuous improvement- Strong internal and external customer focus- Excellent meeting facilitation skills- Ability to work with mínimal direction- Ability to exercise discretion when balancing technical and business riskCaterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).Not ready to apply?
