**SUMMARY**This position is responsible for performing the complete Accounts Payable function, ensuring that all accounts and vendor invoices are properly paid.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES, & RESPONSIBILITIES**1. Process and verify invoice general ledger coding, preparation of invoices and issuance of checks for payment:**Vendor Invoices**:- Processes and verifies vendor invoices with Purchase Order received.- Resolve any discrepancies with the buyers.- Correspond with vendors as necessary to clarify invoices.- Review vendor statements and follow-up on any old/outstanding items.- Respond to telephone calls from vendors regarding payment status.- Maintain Master Data for vendors as needed.**Expense Invoices**:- Process and verify expense invoices. Code invoices with correct general ledger codes to ensure accurate account numbers and cost centers.- Obtain Manager approval of expense invoices in accordance with corporate guidelines.- Review and code freight invoices for payment.- Maintain accounts payable files.2. Maintain Excel spreadsheet reconciliation of the Makino affiliates payables. This includes a monthly report for month-end vouchered and in transit shipments. Follow-up on reconciling items and resolve with the buyers.3. Provide assistance to vendors, employees, and management in regard to AP inquiries.4. Perform other month-end closing activities as assigned.5. Reconcile assigned G/L accounts on a timely basis. Document how accounts are being used. Determine if adjusting journal entries are needed.6. Assist with Audit. Prepare audit work papers.7. Assist in implementation of new processes and in solving system-related problems.8. Provide support and assistance to all other accounting groups and financial employees to enhance overall company performance.**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**1. 4-year accounting degree.2. Experience is preferred but would consider directly out of college.3. General computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.4.
