Career Area:Engineering**Job Description**:Customer Services Package Refurbishment and Upgrades (PRU) Engineering provides engineered solutions in support customer-specific aftermarket business opportunities.Controls Engineer- Responsible for the design of turbine and driven equipment control system upgrades to existing fielded equipment for specific customer sales orders as part of a multi-disciplined project execution team.- Projects range from replacing the entire control system to modifying existing control systems to add or delete functionality based on customer requirements.- Initial focus on the manufacturing role to become acquainted with the PRU sales order project process and controls tools and then transition to include controls design responsibilities.- Deliverables - Bill of Material, Panel and Box Layout manufacturing drawings, Electrical schematic, Interconnect wiring schedule, Controller and display (HMI) softwareMinimum Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant degree- Minimum 3.0 grade point average (on 4.0 scale)- 0-1 years of relevant experience- Fluent in English, both verbal and written- Experience with PLC (programmable logic controller) softwarePreferred Qualifications:- A degree related internship- Desired technical skills include programming of Rockwell Automation PLC 5 and ControlLogix 5000 processors- Ability to write and communicate ideas clearly- Ability to work well with others, team spirit, and flexibility with personal schedule to meet deadlines- A sense of urgency and organizational skills are also required to work with multiple projects and competing priorities.Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).Not ready to apply?
