The Consumer Banking Business Development Director manages multiple teams through other managers. This role requires an in-depth understanding of how the sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function, along with a solid grasp of the industry and competitors' products and services. Excellent communication skills are necessary for internal negotiations, often at a senior level, as well as some external communication. The Director is responsible for executing functional strategy in the area managed, determining the approach to implementation, and is accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation, and future strategy contributions.


Responsibilities:

  • This senior leader will own the product profit and loss (P&L) and lead the team responsible for creating, growing, and delivering the P&L, customer product offerings, and product pricing.
  • Drive all digital capability acceleration efforts/projects to provide new, best-in-class digital features and capabilities.
  • Identify forward-compatible top talent inside and outside of the organization, fostering an innovative, play-to-win culture.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to redesign business models and deepen customer relationships through compelling product offerings.
  • Accountable for business economics, outcomes, and rollout of digital acceleration efforts, including the development and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish governance of all initiatives, ensuring compliance with guidelines and standards, and risk mitigation.
  • Recommend and influence digital product strategy at senior management levels.
  • Analyze product trends nationally to target new customers and identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience.
  • Accomplished change leader with the ability to execute in ambiguous and changing environments.
  • Vision and passion for transforming the consumer banking business.
  • Managerial experience.
  • Significant relevant experience in driving strategy and execution of digital products and customer experience in retail banking/financial services.
  • Collaborative ability across multiple stakeholders and organizations.
  • Respectful treatment of people and assumption of common purpose and shared goals.
  • Proven ability to manage and drive large scale, complex business initiatives.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with process-oriented execution.
  • Strategic, analytical thinker who challenges the status quo and drives continuous improvement and innovation.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree; Master’s degree preferred.
