The Quality Reliability Engineer (QRE) will work closely with technology and product development teams as well as outsource development partners to bring leading edge Server board/system products to market. Specifically, the QRE will be responsible for the product health and qualification of server socket retention hardware and air/liquid cooled thermal solutions for industry enabling and for commercial products.The QRE will participate throughout the product development cycle (architecture, design, validation, manufacturing, and sustaining), establish market segment use condition requirements, define qualification requirements, define/develop stress testing, and ensure processes are stable in order toensure products meet committed quality and reliability performance. Emphasis will be on ensuring designs are robust and have adequate margin to enable customer's success with Intel products. QRE will participate in cross-functional teams composed of multiple business units within CQN, DPEA, and TD.**Main Responsabilities**:- Driving server retention hardware and cooling solution qualification and ensuring design for reliability by developing and executing qualification plans to meet customer requirements.- This includes risk mitigation plans and ensuring new technology meets quality and reliability goals.- Performing FMEA for components and systems.- Participating in product qualification including solution risk assessment and mitigation, developing test plans for thermal and mechanical reliability validation, and analyzing the data against the requirements for the solution.- Resolving quality or reliability issues experienced by customers during the product life cycle.- Successfully influencing and motivating others in a positive manner.- Multitasking in a highly matrixed environment.- Navigating within ambiguous and constantly evolving project definitions.**Behavioral traits**:- Effectively communicating skills.**Qualifications**:** Minimum Qualifications,**Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position:- Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree (preferably a M.S or PhD degree) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or related degree with to 5-10 years of industry experience.**Preferred Qualifications,**- Experience with traditional reliability stress methods (e.g. thermal shock, temp cycling) and physical acceleration models which relate stress failure rates to field failure rates.- Experience using reliability simulation and prediction tools, including accelerated degradation modeling.- Experience with process control, risk management, and failure modes associated with pressurized fluids.- Experience with risk management and failure modes associated with chemical compatibility- FMEA experience including analysis of external supplier based components.Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.**Inside this Business Group**:The Data Platforms Engineering and Architecture (DPEA) Group invents, designs & builds the world's most critical computing platforms which fuel Intel's most important business and solve the world's most fundamental problems.
