Senior User Experience Designer, Communications GBU

You’re a full-stack user experience designer. You apply user-centered design methods to interaction design, visual design and aesthetics, typography, motion, 3D, human factors, and more as tools in the UX designer’s toolkit. You are better at some than others, but you’re excited to learn and apply each of them into an experience that delights.

You get stuff done. You work to understand stakeholder needs and effectively build consensus around the needs of the people using our applications. You deliver results, on time, and know organization and effective project management, which builds trust in our ability to execute.

You’re a fantastic storyteller.Our products tell our customers a story through the user experience. You wont rest until that story is a compelling one.

You love rules and you know when to break them. You think systemically because you know that creating a coherent experience requires it. But you know when the system needs to expand to accommodate a user’s varied conceptual model. And you know when to do something completely unique to create an arresting and product-defining moment in the product that makes users ooh and aah.

You dont already know everything, and you love to learn. You’re inspired by helping users solve their problems. You love finding out you’re wrong. You consume large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to constantly refine your assumptions.

What will you do as a user experience designer on Oracle’s Communications UX team?

  • You will divedeepinto Oracles Communications products and deliver innovative experiences tailored to the needs of our customers: the worlds leading telecommunication providers and enterprises with communication operations
  • You will partner closely with Product Management to understand the oftentimes technically-minded customers who use these products, empathize with them, and imagine creative ways we can make their work lives dramatically better.
  • You will partner closely with fellow designers to innovate by designing coherent, seamless, and emotionally resonant, state-of-the-art user experiences for our users.
  • You will partner closely with Engineering to take your designs and turn them into reality.
  • You will partner closely with your colleagues in user research to get customer feedback on your designs, find out where youve improved their lives, and where you have more work to do.
  • You will meetregularlywith stakeholders to discuss project status, goals, roadblocks and areas for improvement.
  • You will lead discovery sessions, designcritiques, stakeholder reviewsandcustomerdemos.
  • You will stay well-informed of changing design technologies/methodologies and help drive process improvements and design strategy.
  • You will develop Communications domain expertise and be comfortable with continuous learning
  • You will execute and be an internal advocate for the value of the design thinking process
  • You will work with stakeholders to align your designs to UX strategy and prioritization.
  • You will collaborate with central design teams to advocate for and contribute your use cases back to the Redwood Design System.
  • Your experience designing intuitive UX in telecommunications, or similarly complex industries will be instrumental in understanding the needs of your customers.
  • You will learn, grow, and be challenged.
  • And, if we’re being honest (and we are), you will sometimes make tough compromises, or find things take longer than you want them to, or you will need to work extra hard to convince a colleague of your position, and sometimes you will not get your way.

  • Deliver innovative experiences tailored to the needs of our customers: the world’s leading telecommunication providers and enterprises with communication operations
  • Partner closely with Product Management to understand the oftentimes technically-minded customers who use these products, empathize with them, and imagine creative ways we can make their work lives dramatically better.
  • Partner closely with fellow designers to innovate by designing coherent, seamless, and emotionally resonant, state-of-the-art user experiences for our users.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to turn designs into reality.
  • Partner closely with UX Researchers to get customer feedback on designs.
  • Report project status, goals, roadblocks and areas for improvement.
  • Lead discovery sessions, designcritiques, stakeholder reviewsandcustomerdemos.
  • Stay well-informed of changing design technologies/methodologies and help drive process improvements and design strategy.
  • Develop Communications domain expertise and be comfortable with continuous learning
