We need thoughtful, talented user experience designers who empower technology users with high-quality interaction and visual design to bring their creative ideas and hard work to our team. As an accomplished Principal UX designer, you will lead the evolution of components, patterns, and guidelines for Oracle's Redwood Design System.

Our team focuses on reimagining healthcare applications to improve user experience and ensure safe and effective use across roles and responsibilities. As a Lead Systems Designer, you will identify and solve complex healthcare problems by collaborating with clinicians, developers, product management, and other UX associates.

The role requires a powerful and flexible experience that works across many apps, devices, and contexts. You will work alongside top designers, product managers, and technologists to design solutions that organizations worldwide use for their healthcare systems and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with product managers to drive new component roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with product design teams to understand user needs, problems, and goals across diverse use cases.
  • Work with researchers and data scientists to gain insights for improved designs.
  • Articulate guiding principles for ideation, prototyping, and exploration of design solutions.
  • Design components with innovative microinteractions, integrating with Oracle's Redwood Design System, prioritizing accessibility, and responding across desktop and mobile experiences.
  • Create interaction specifications using language, diagrams, and prototypes to describe component usage, anatomy, behavior, and configuration with clarity and detail.
  • Develop usage guidelines and training materials to help others learn and use the design system.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • You have 8+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering products.
  • You are a full-stack user experience designer with experience in creating design systems.
  • You thrive on working well with others, making them better, and inspiring collaboration with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, executives, and others.
  • You are a fantastic storyteller who knows that our products tell customers a story through the user experience.
  • You love rules but know when to break them, thinking systemically to create coherent experiences.
  • You are inspired by helping users solve problems, love learning, and consuming large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to refine your assumptions.
