We create a better tomorrow by developing and responsibly producing energy-efficient products and systems.Position Summary:The Category Manager III identifies, selects and manage global supplier relationships for assigned commodities (with high technical or commercial complexity and/or medium/high spend commodities) to ensure that products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required. May ensure all engineering, customer, security, and EHS requirements are met. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned commodities. ERP system data maintenance, commodity strategy planning and development. Cost reduction initiatives and execution are essential elements of the role. The Category Manager Expert will be responsible primarily for Metal Fab and Stampings, but may have additional responsibilities assigned.Major Responsibilities:- Defines, develops and communicates the commodity strategy that drives a supply base committed to deliver 100% quality parts, on time, with continued effort to reduce the total cost of the commodity and may ensure all engineering, customer, security, and EHS- Facilitate RFI’s and RFQ’s packages and prepare spreadsheet analysis to make recommendations for improvement. Identifies potential suppliers and makes recommendations on supplier selection and quality compliance.- Executes plans to meet customer commitment to deliver 100% quality parts, on time, with continuous emphasis on cost containment. Drives projects for Sourcing team ensuring objectives are met and communication channels are effective.- Defines, drives and implements continuous improvement projects to ensure objectives are met. Leads simplification in the overall supply chain. Provides expertise to internal team as well as other internal functions.- Manage ERP pricing updates.- Develop global expertise in target commodity and a thorough understanding of demand / supply market dynamics.- Prepare for and conduct contract negotiations.- Monitor supply markets and industries including pricing trends, new suppliers and alternative solutions and supply risk.- Identify critical supply disruption points in upstream value chain and formulate and effective strategy for mitigation.- Focus on strategic suppliers and support Value Analysis / Value Engineering with feedback from suppliers to drive ongoing cost reduction.- Work cooperatively with Quality, Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to assess the quality capabilities of new and existing suppliers to ensure that all product / material purchases meet defined quality standards.- Evaluate international sourcing opportunities. Develop and execute commodity strategies that ensure best value country supplier selection.- Conduct supplier’s business review; provide feedback on performance.- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.Required Education / Experience / Skills:- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience- 8 + years of experience in sourcing, supply chain or in a manufacturing environment- Strong analytical and organization skills- Ability to handle multiple projects effectively- Strong verbal and communication skills- Intermediate to advanced user of excel- Experience with an ERP system, e.g. Oracle R12, BITravel: As requiredLanguage: Must be bilingual and fluent in Spanish and English- Regal is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
