Job Overview Start your K&A Career : We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Transmission Line Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering in Charlotte NC, Cary, NC or Oak Brook, IL. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Responsibilities & Duties Role Expectations : Assist with the design of medium to high voltage AC and DC OH / UG transmission lines, including circuit rating calculations and cable system construction methods specifications Assist with the development of the cable system routing including considerations for trenched and trenchless crossings, splice vaults spacing and layout and substation interconnections Work with designers to develop drawing packages to support the design including route plan and profiles, trench cross sections, duct bank designs, and construction details Assist with studies and providing constructability reviews Assist with the preparation of project capital and expense estimates Perform calculations and prepare technical reports Support the documentation of newly constructed Transmission Line facilities Assist with the management of project correspondence, RFIs coordination and file management Work with an interdisciplinary project team including member from construction, design, civil, and electrical groups Qualifications & Skills What we're looking for : Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within substation or transmission Perform engineering responsibilities without assistance and minimal supervision Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel Support business development and marketing initiatives Strong attention to detail, team building, collaboration, organization and problem‑solving Why Join K&A?
