Manager-quality Assurance

Outokumpu Stainless is looking for a **" Manager - Quality Assurance "** to lead and support our Quality team in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.This role will manage the Quality Assurance process in our San Luis Potosi mill to achieve the Quality KPI’s, manage costs and resources, guaranteeing the monitoring of established security policies and supporting the Operations, Commercial and Supply Chain Teams to ensure customer satisfaction.Starting with one of the most technically advanced stainless steel mills in the region, the Americas team has built on Outokumpu’s legacy of steel making and added the expertise of its diverse workforce to serve the Americas market with an unmatched passion for producing high quality stainless steel.With a growing portfolio of both austenitic and ferritic grades from our fully-integrated mill in Calvert, Alabama, and our stainless steel finishing mill in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and service center in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Outokumpu Americas is well-positioned to serve the expanding needs of the Americas’ market.**Main Responsibilities**:- Ensuring our Quality Team works under a Safety culture principles and on a safe environment.- This positions supervises different departments: inspection, Laboratory, Product Engineering, Quality Product, local R&D, Pre-material Supplier Evaluation areas.- Guaranteeing our processes comply with the specifications established in our quality system.- Create and coordinate Quality and strategy plans (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly)- Document the product and process capability- Establish and analyze management area indicators and formulate strategies in accordance with the best practices in the industry.- Coordinate the budget activities of the Area to ensure the achievement of the budget plan (OpEx), maximize capital expenditure investments (CapEx) and increase operational efficiency.- Take responsibility for daily quality activities and decision making on our products to maximize the use of plant capacity- Ensure that our Quality Team is motivated and involved with the organization Vision and Mission.- Ensure that the final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.- Develop and promote actions aimed at increasing customer satisfaction.- Coordinates and evaluates the performance of our Quality personnel, identifies training needs and promotes relevant training sessions.- Collaborate and build strong interpersonal relationships with leadership and team members- Ensure we develop our personnel to make they to grow inside our company**Qualifications**:- English - Spanish fully bilingual- Desirable 3 years of experience as Quality Manager or Similar in the Metal-Mechanical Industry- Experience in Quality strategy- Engineering Degree and Master’s Degree (preferred)- Deep knowledge of product management- 2+ years of project management experience,- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques, Core Tools and hosting Kaizen events- Demonstrable experience coordinating 5 operating teams- Certified Green or Black Belt (preferred)- Experience in managing quality standards (ISO9001, EMA, ISO17025)- Experience in managing personnel with a robust organizational structure.- Experience in elaboration and measurements of key KPI's of Quality- Mastery of the processes and standards of Industrial Health and Safety- Domain of MS Office and ERP software AS400, SAP- Knowledge in inventory management- Knowledge of financial bases**Skills**:- Ability to understand complex calculations (mathematics, statistics, variables, etc.)Team work and leadership skills- Analytical- Attention to detail- Handling equipment- Planning, Negotiation and administration- Effective communication- Strategic vision**Physical Requirements**:- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat and cold and near moving parts. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt.- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. individually with assistance and occasionally lift and/or move anything over 50 lbs.- Ability to frequently work from heights of at least 250 feet above ground.- Exposure to consistent noise.- Ability to frequently sit, stand, talk and hear for long periods of time.- Ability to walk long distances, sometimes over uneven terrain.- Ability to use power and hand tools.- Ability to work shift work.- Ability to work in safety sensitive environment.- Ability to use safety equipment, as required.
