We are experts in the fields we operate in, investing in training, science, innovation, and technology, and affording our employees opportunities for growth and development.**Summary****Responsibilities**- Supervise and coordinate daily sewing operations for soft-sided luggage components such as zippers, handles, linings, and compartments.- Allocate tasks to operators based on skill level and production priorities.- Monitor production flow, ensuring daily targets and deadlines are met- Conduct quality checks on sewn parts for accuracy, durability, and appearance.- Train and guide sewing operators on proper techniques and machinery operation.- Collaborate with Quality Control and Production Planning teams to resolve defects or bottlenecks.- Maintain and enforce safety and housekeeping standards within the sewing area.- Monitor and report machine maintenance needs to minimize downtime.- Maintain accurate records of production output, materials usage, and personnel performance.- Oversee all machining operations to ensure quality and efficiency in production.- Manage a team of machinists and provide training on best practices and safety protocols.- Develop and implement machining processes that optimize production workflows.- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve product designs for manufacturability.- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.**Qualifications**- Minimum 5 years of experience as a sewing supervisor or lead operator, preferably in luggage, bag, or heavy fabric manufacturing.- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting industrial sewing machines (e.g., walking foot, post bed, bar tack, cylinder bed).- Strong understanding of heavy-duty materials like ballistic nylon, polyester, PVC backing, and foam padding.- Ability to read and interpret sewing patterns, tech packs, and production sheets.- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.- Attention to detail with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.- High school diploma or vocational training in têxtiles, apparel, or a related field.**Requirements**:- Proven experience in machining or manufacturing management roles.- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and machining processes.- Familiarity with garment construction is a plus but not mandatory.- Experience in process improvement, time-motion studies, or production line balancing.- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Pay: $30,000.00 - $32,000.00 per month**Experience**:- Sewing machine: 5 years (required)**Language**:- English (required)Shift availability:- Day Shift (preferred)Ability to Commute:- Tecate, CA 91987 (required)Ability to Relocate:- Tecate, CA 91987: Relocate before starting work (required)Work Location: In person
