Production Supervisor

You will find Nordson employees sharing our success by giving back in the communities around the world where we live and work.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assure that manufacturing operations follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Procedures as defined by Nordson Medical, Tecate’s polices ensuring that FDA and Quality Standards are met.- Supervises, teaches, and evaluates personnel in the Nordson Medical, Tecate team leading ensuring compliance with quality by GMP, GDP, and products according to manufacturing build packets, drawings, and customer specifications.- The production supervisor oversees the supervision of all production work during their assigned shift and may be require performing the duties of a Team leaders in any of the production areas.- Assures that all manufacturing orders are completed and available to ship on time by identifying and communicating any constraints that may cause a late order to VS Manager, Operations Manager and Buyer Planner.- Can perform set-up changes for all manufacturing orders and is proficient in all manufacturing processes and procedures, including inspection.- Primary trainer of all manufacturing team leaders.- Eliminate downtime for failures in production to ensure the process flow at the same time helps each team leaders to reach the goals and objectives of each production areas.- Participates in engineering, quality, and cost savings projects as an active member of the continuous improvement team.- In conjunction with the Operations Manager or Sr. supervisor, makes decisions concerning staff working within the production process that includes special permits, vacations and other moves, always focused on meeting the goals, following the previously established guidelines of human resources department.- Ensure the correct use of all resources of the company such as human, materials, machines, time, and others, during the shift or team assigned.- The Production Supervisor takes the role of supervision of any of the areas inside the building when the Manager of these areas is not available in site.- Attend regular meetings to update data, guidelines and objectives and provide the knowledge acquired to improve the situation of production.- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining, and aligning company policies and procedures.- Other duties or projects as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or extensive experience and knowledge in medical devices manufacture.- From 5 to 6 years of experience as production supervisor.- Understanding of common machines and assemblies, molding operations is desired.- Fluid in English, spoken and written is desired..- Related experience within international standards (ISO 13485 / 9001), FDA and European quality systems requirements (QSR, MDD), and risk management (ISO 14971, DFMEA and PFMEA) is desired.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s):- Be motivating, proactive and have ability to promote / create a positive and productive change in people that make up the production team.- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.- Basic math and metrology skills- Ability to remain calm and courteous in tense situations (skill conciliatory in human conflicts).COMPUTER SKILLS:- Proficient in navigation and use of the Windows operating system in a networked environment.- Understanding on the use of Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).- Proficiency to read and interpret charts, graphs and tables information.- Basic ERP skills.- Ability to develop an understanding and practice of Nordson values and competencies- Values cultural diversity and other differences; fosters an environment where people who are culturally diverse can work together cooperatively and effectively in achieving organizational goals.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers, handle or feel, frequently required to talk, or hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (vision 20/20 is a plus).- Ability to work in office setting and clean room environment.- Ability to solve complex problems in various areas, analytical thinking, and high level of responsibility.- Employee will frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information.- Employee will be required to observe and assess information received via compute
