Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.At HPS, we build products that provide mission critical infrastructure and that deliver communications and power to millions of people worldwide. It operates in three segments: Electrical, Power, and Industrial Technology.- Position Overview- The Materials Manager oversees the Purchasing organizations, sourcing as well as the material analysis for the Business Unit. Duties include materials planning, materials control, materials strategy and all material project initiatives. This position is also a key enabler of lean and continuous improvement in the plant. Key performance indicators for this position are inventory days, customer on-time shipping to promised ship date, vendor on time performance and managing NCMR directly with suppliers.- **Responsibilities**:- Primary point of responsibility for materials management.- Ensures optimization of all materials management activities including scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, materials movement, supplier performance measurement, and indirect materials management.- Responsible for the implementation, support and compliance of the Materials and SIOP processes and systems to facilitate the fulfillment process from production planning to material procurement and warehousing through product shipment.- Facilitates interaction with Engineering, Accounting, Marketing and Quality Assurance in support of the business’s strategic goals.- Develop and drive countermeasures for underperforming key processes and/or material suppliers.- Provide leadership in selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of materials functions and Company’s operating goals and objectives.- Manage suppliers, materials and inventory in a manner consistent with the requirements of a Lean Six-Sigma manufacturing environment.- Skills and Experience- +5 years Managerial experience related to standardizing planning and subsequent execution, reducing sourcing complexity and focused in talent development.- Experience with manufacturing environments.- Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.- Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.- Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes.- Outstanding communication and leadership skills.- Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities.- Expert in SAP- Master in Business Administration is a plus.- Education- Bachelors Degree in Business
