Manufacturing Engineer Ii

To design, develop and implement manufacturing processes considering tools, equipment, layout, facilities and systems to create safe and quality product with a competitive cost and optimum performance. To create and document process standards and work instructions, focused mainly on production support. Analyzes data from manufacturing processes related to time studies, layouts, etc. and continuously improves process performance in safety, quality, cost, etc. Improve production processes safety, with the best product quality and delivery working at the optimum operational cost.- Leads PFMEA core team. Updates MWIs for current production. Validates and upgrades current error proofing.Defines and implement SPC for current processes. Defines gaging needs in process. Assesses current gages. Leads regular priority root cause analysis. Leads APQP implementation. Executes tasks and activities for PPAP. Has some knowledge of requirements for ISO. Creates documentation for ISO. Orange Belt- Executes DFM, DFT, DFA analysis. Updates Set Up Sheets based on performance. Can calculate CPK. Able to open and create medium size projects. Open and use 3D modeling features. Can develop a modify 2D Layouts. SAP Consults tables and queries. MBOM basic. Coordinates controls runs and ESL/MSL activities. Leads Control run or Build Report. Can develop a medium process with help of a Sr. Engineer- Knows requirements for equipment and can suggest and look for improvements in automation designs. Can edit and improve checklist or guidelines an equipment and give improvement ideas or projects. Develops a Production system design and assess tooling required and validates new equipment. Creates and maintains capital assets tracker Executes minor Process Changes. Executes minor Product Changes.- Executes activities coming from VSM workshops. Has knowledge and experience of kanban. Can calculate kanban levels with tools and design a kanban. Has knowledge of lean tools, broad improvement experience. Designs layout for minor process changes. Modifies current workstations design. Calculates std hours for current processes. Assesses reals vs calculated line balancing. Fixes it- Calculates Manning required for his assigned area. Calculates Capacity hours for current processes.Determines equipment location and layout in his area of responsibility looking for best option considering manufacturing flow, material handling and ergonomics. Can provide labor std hrs.- Coordinates projects in his assigned area of responsibility. Changes SAP material master information to support production in engineering inputs.- Lead and innovate processes for problem solving activities related to downtime, quality or safety issues by analyzing BOMs, interpreting drawings, engineering specifications. Leads in root cause analysis for quality issues.- Coordinates activities for NPD projects under supervision of Sr. Engineer. Validate new or modified parts in manufacturing process with control runs or other tools for the CQP and PPAP process. Implement productivity projects related to labor, overhead and material through engineering tools and/or process automation opportunities. Create temporary process deviations documentation (PCOs) for process and material changes when required and implements ECN activities regarding manufacturing processes.- Assess Operational Safety Risks and creates Job Safety Analysis (ASTs) and Safety Practices for the manufacturing process and resolves major risk points to reduce operational risk. Validates layout and workstations to comply with ergonomic standards.
