PURPOSEThe Billing Analyst I position will ensure the company is billed correctly by the carrier for freight shipments while also providing support to freight customers and ensuring they are billed correctly for freight shipments.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Review all incoming freight invoices (original and corrected) which have pricing discrepancies. Disposition each discrepancy so they are properly identified so carrier payment and customer invoice reflects correctly.- Send letters of authorization requests to carrier for billing corrections.- Ensure our customers are billed according to their customer specific business rules.- Performs various reviews and audit checks as applicable.- Identify carrier billing errors versus internal Rater set up / configuration errors.- Create Bills of Lading (BOL’s) for undocumented shipments.- Collects Proof of Delivery (POD’s) for specific customer’s invoices when required.- Process invoice adjustments as applicable due to correct invoices, credit memos or refunds.- Collaborate with other teams to recognize patterns of Rater or Central configuration or carrier billing issues.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES- Proficient in Microsoft Office- Excellent attention to detail- Strong research and analytical abilities- Ability to understand contract language- Good written and verbal communication skills- Numeric aptitudeQUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION- Highschool diploma or equivalentPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT**Work Environment**: Job is typically performed in a general office environment or remote.
