Job Summary
- To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Director, Global Program Management located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
- Reporting to Sr Director, Account Management, the Director, Global Program Management role involves working on one or more projects on a global basis that are interrelated from the perspective of customer, technology and/or product platform and provide guidance, direction and support to the Project managers assigned to these projects. To ensure, through governance, that there is strong collaboration between the different functional areas involved in the project(s) ensuring effective planning and execution of project activities.
What a typical day looks like:
- Provides global POC to client management.
- Ensures programs execute to contract.
- Maintain Key KPI’s & drive CSAT.
- Ensure full, complete, and timely invoicing.
- Work with sites on efficiency improvements to maximize COP.
- Owns and drives delivery on complex project plans for transfer or implementation.
- GPM ensures WW delivery consistency while growing OP.
- Manage customer relationship on a Global basis and will act as the key escalation point globally for all product programs, projects, and operational performance issues.
- Facilitate collaborative communication between all functional areas within a location/business group/vertically integrated organization.
- Facilitate external two-way communication between Customer and Flex Sites.
- Manage the process to ensure Customer’s expectations are clearly defined, understood, and communicated across the appropriate Flex Organizations.
- Work with Design and Operations globally to ensure the appropriate Project Managers and project resources are assigned to all customer projects.
- Accountable for the performance of the FPLC project team(s) and Project manager(s) and ensure all project managers, program managers and project teams adhere to the Flex Product Life Cycle Process (FPLC) process no matter where the projects are initiated from.
- Attend phase gate reviews where applicable (i.e., FPLC and Customer) and monitor and review project performance with the principal Project manager and Operations Program Manager ensuring timely resolution of any issues that may arise.
- Provide the necessary leadership and support to Project Managers (design, NPI, lead etc.) to manage projects in line with project management processes and associated policies and procedures.
- Ensure collaborative cross-functional project team participation to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control all phases of a project or subproject to ensure work efforts are executed on time, within budget, and according to stated requirements reliably and repeatedly.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Strong operational background with strong experience in Program Management in the manufacturing industry with background in Telecom, automotive or medical projects.
- BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience.
- Strong financial background with P&L ownership experience.
- Demonstrates functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
- Demonstrates expertise in multiple areas and industry.
- Demonstrates proficient knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business.
- Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
- Performance development, teaching/leading, mentoring and/or organization development. Instills appropriate behavior in others in support of Flextronics values. Supports strategic direction for the function.
- Ability to successfully project manage and operate cross-functionally on a global scale.
- Ability to travel 30% of the time or more, globally.
